Presidents' Day Snow Update
Since Saturday, February 13, street conditions have improved. While Aisquith Street is closed below Ashland Avenue, it is passable in front of the school. Ashland Avenue is fairly clear and Somerset Street is clear. At this time, school is scheduled to open tomorrow, Tuesday, February 16 at regular time.
IND follows the decision of either Baltimore City or Baltimore County. If either Baltimore City or Baltimore County schools are closed, IND will be closed. If either of the two systems delay opening, IND will follow that decision.
Parents should plan to drop their daughters off directly in front of the school - there is a clearing to the sidewalk, for their safety. Kindly, parents are asked to not allow their daughters to drive as there is no parking in the area surrounding the school, and it would be hazardous for them to park further away from IND and walk in the street.
IND realizes that this poses an inconvenience to some families, but the girls' safety is the utmost priority and there is simply no parking around the school at this time. Parents are asked to please be patient in carpool as traffic will likely be an issue while there is still so much snow on the ground.
Parent and student cooperation is much appreciated.
