Melanie Gentry Morris '78

Melanie Gentry Morris is a proud 1978 alumna of IND. She currently serves as Class Agent, has organized six of her seven reunions and has worked on the Auction Committee for the last 8 years.
Additionally, Melanie has served as the Hostess for the Auction the last three years. Her legacy at IND goes back to her grandmother who graduated around 1916. Two of her aunts were SSNDs. Her father served on the IND Board for four years and is still a HUGE supporter of IND. Melanie chose IND over her sisters and mother's alma mater, NDP because she felt from the very first time she walked through the doors that “she was home.” Melanie is married with 3 children, (daughter Class of ’07), one daughter-in-law and one granddaughter. Melanie is the Practice Manager at Academy Financial, Inc. a financial planning firm where she has worked for 20 years. Melanie also sings in the St. Isaac’s Church contemporary choir and she is the Executive Director of the Greater Chesapeake Charitable Foundation. Also, take note that Melanie was voted Funniest, Biggest Ham and Corniest Joke Teller in her Senior Year, an honor she holds very near and dear.
