There will be some new faces this school year in the Office of School Counseling
The Institute of Notre Dame (IND) has named Kristan Jester as the Director of College Counseling. Ms. Jester is a familiar face for IND families. Prior to serving as director, she was the school counselor. Jester takes over for Lisa Fink, who retired earlier this year after spending 16 years at IND.

Taking over as School Counselor will be IND alum Mary Beth Welkos '95. Before coming to IND, Welkos worked for the Baltimore City Public School system. She earned her bachelor's degree from Loyola College and a Master's in School Psychology from Towson University and a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Maryland.

Also joining the Office of School Counseling this school year, Kerrie McGregor. She is taking over the role of Learning Specialist. McGregor comes to us from St. Paul’s School where she held the same role for nine years. She earned her B.A. in Secondary English Education from Robert Morris College and her M.Ed. from Loyola College as a Reading Specialist. Karla Bounds will continue to be the Administrative Assistant.

This school year, the Office of School Counseling will be focusing on the SAT/ACT and college application process, fostering and instilling confidence to provide social/emotional well-being along with evaluating academic strengths and weakness to promote success. IND's goal is to provide your daughter with a comprehensive, individualized approach to ensure she reaches her fullest potential.

The doors to the Office of School Counseling are always open! If you have any concerns regarding your daughter's academics or welfare, email or call.
